The game went into extra innings and the international tie breaker went into effect in the 8th inning with a runner beginning on 2nd base. Blue Dogs scored three runs in the top of the 8th on singles by Davis, Smith, Brooke Hall and a double by Kelly Kermode. In the bottom of the 8th inning, B&E answered with a single by Liz Grunch, double by Chevie Perolta to score 2 runs making it a 4-3 game, Stacey Barber-Walker singled, Nicole Barber singled to tie the game and load the bases with no outs and Chelsey Schultz singled in the game winning run. 5 consecutive hits for B&E to come from a 4-1 deficit to win the game and the state championship 5-4!
