Friday night games were rained out. We resumed play Saturday at 8:00 am with 5 inning games beginning in the 3rd inning to have the mercy rules in place which stayed in place all day and night Saturday, finishing at 1:34 am.

 

Game 1:  EJ – 7 (8 hits) over Mayan Agency – 2 (4 hits)

WP – Corey Essenberg (5 K’s, 2 BB’s), LP – Jeff Buckley (3 K’s, 1 BB)

EJ – Jordan Lechowicz had 2 hits, Dave Corcoran homered, singles by Nick Karaszewski, Josh Bush, John Bush, Chris Loper and Tom Scott.

Mayan – Tom Tryban had a homerun and a double with 2 RBI’s, Jamie Wheelock and Andy Rohn singled.

Notes – The first pitch of the 2012 Petoskey Fast Pitch Tournament season was not thrown until the 5th scheduled day due to rain last weekend and Friday night this weekend. The first pitch was a homerun into the bay behind left field hit by Tom Tryban from Mayan Agency – With one of the wettest starts to the season, it only seemed fitting that the first pitch got wet by going into Little Traverse Bay of Lake Michigan!

 

Game 2: Tiffany’s – 2 (3 hits) over Carey All State – 1 (2 hits)

WP – Pete Loachridge (8 K’s, 1 BB), LP – Rick Engle (7 K’s, 1 BB)

Tiffany’s – Brad Gnatkowski and Eric Brandt each hit solo homeruns, back to back to lead off the 2nd inning of play. Jason Ross singled in the same inning.

Carey – Mike Hoon and Catlin Porter singled.

 

Game 3: Blues Softball – 6 (5 hits) over Wilson Law Office – 0 (0 hits)

WP – Ryan Nichols (11 K’s, 2 BB’s), LP – Lee Wyckoff (2 K’s, 5 BB’s)

Blues – Gene McKinstry tripled, singles by Jeff Kucharczyk, Guy Thurston, Brandon Ryan and Paul Smith.

Wilson – Base on balls for Ryan Rumsey and Garrett Gagnon were the only base runners.

 

Game 4: Up to Date Log Homes – 1 (3 hits) over Crouch Electric – 0 (3 hits)

WP – Zach Lach (6 K’s, 1 BB), LP – Jon Gwizdala (3 K’s, 2 BB’s)

Up to Date – David Lach, Chris Dipzinski, and Joe Gorney all singled. Joe Gorney had the game winning RBI single in the bottom of the 7th to drive in Mike Zink who walked to lead off the inning.

Crouch – Brandon Elser, Rob Lewis, and Jon Gwizdala all singled.

 

Game 5: Mayan – 6 (10 hits) over Carey All State – 5 (6 hits)

WP – Jeff Buckley (6 K’s, 6 BB’s), LP – Rick Engle (4 K’s, 0 BB’s)

Mayan – Tom Tryban had two hits including a homerun and two RBI’s to lead Mayan while Jamie Wheelock also had two hits and one RBI. John Streeter doubled, Randy Wheelock singled and had two RBI’s while Ray Schoof had an RBI single. Marcus Doan, Joel Buckley, and Jimmy Schoof singled.

Carey – Shea Bryant had two hits including a homerun and two RBI’s to lead Carey at the plate. Mike Hoon and Dave Dufort doubled, Brad O’Keefe and Justin Krenzke singled.

 

Game 6: Crouch Electric – 6 (5 hits) over Wilson Law Office – 2 (4 hits)

WP – Shannon Damron (4 K’s, 2 BB’s), LP – Graham Church (4 K’s, 2 BB’s)

Crouch – Joe Edwards had a grand slam homerun while Brandon Elser had two hits. Derek Lytle and Bill DeBeau both singled.

Wilson – Mitch Bohn doubled while Ryan Rumsey, Derek Fillmore, and Scott Holzinger singled.

EJ – Chris Loper had a three run homerun and finished with 4 RBI’s. John Bush and Al Stallard added two hits apiece while Jordan Lechowicz, Denzil Wilson, and Kevin Lavanway singled.

Tiffany’s – Gary Thompson had a solo homerun while Brad Gnatkowski singled.

Blues – Jeff Kucharczyk had two hits including a two run homerun to lead the Blues. Shawn Davis doubled and had two RBI’s. Gene McKinstry, Guy Thurston, Brandon Ryan, Jared Nichols, and Mike Cross all singled.

Up To Date – Will Tack had two hits to lead Up To Date at the plate. Zach Lach, Mike Zink, and Brandon Peters all singled.
